Scope

Rob McGrath came to us hoping to expand his Florida-based police training business from a web ecosystem that existed across multiple platforms to a cohesive mobile experience. With the mission of improving the education of police officers and cadets in Florida, Rob wanted to reach more learners and improve the experience and efficacy of presenting the required materials for the job by developing an app that was both easy and fun to use. The Ridgefox app provides an engaging in-app tutorial and training experience for the end user, with a simple UI/UX; video tutorials; Chapter, Unit, and Lesson breakdowns; and practice tests at the end of each section. Administrative features include user and video security, user management, subscription management, and test creation and management. Aspiring police academy cadets and those looking to further their careers can master the materials and feel confident that they’re ready for all their Academy Tests and ultimately, the State Exam (SOCE).

Ridgefox Academy came to our team with a web-based police test prep ecosystem that they hoped to streamline as a mobile app experience, including an accompanying web-based Content and Test Management System (CMS), to allow for more convenient and efficient course preparation and a better experience for his users.

After technical discovery, we determined that his needs were best met by a native iOS app and a native Android app, with an accompanying native Mac OS app CMS. Some of the primary features in the Ridgefox Academy mobile apps are:

In-App Educational Materials: Learners have access to chapter-level videos and content.

Repeatable Quizzes: Tests allow for randomized questions for each chapter. For example, if there are 30 total questions and answers for a section, the user will see 5 random questions of those 30 each time they take the quiz.

Performance Summary: Users have access to a performance summary and are able to revisit relevant materials and retake the tests as needed and desired.

CMS (Content Management System): On the administrative side, Ridgefox Academy is able to easily update materials including updating videos, text, and test questions. All materials can be  updated to the most current requirements.
