Wearables are solving real world problems by enabling and connecting people on the go with technology.

Here we consider the scenario of field technicians performing on-site inspections. Traditionally, they may carry a checklist for the inspection, binders of documentation for reference, and a camera if defects are found. This Salesforce Google Glass application provides all of those tools to the in-field technician.

Users log-in to Salesforce using the Force.com API, and based on the current location, the technician chooses from a list of nearby options. The step-by-step checklist is retrieved from Salesforce and displayed to the user. They can use voice command to submit Pass/Fail and Yes/No responses, along with capturing photos, creating tickets, and searching Salesforce documentation.

Jackrabbit contributed the Google Glass app to this project. The sample code can be found in the linked GitHub repository, and the demonstration video walks through our inspection use case.
